Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is therapy right for me?

Seeking out therapy is an individual choice. Sometimes people come to therapy to help manage long-standing psychological issues or problems, like anxiety, depression, or trauma. Many people seek therapeutic support as they navigate their own mental health journey.  Therapy provides a safe space for individuals to explore their lived experiences and develop adequate coping skills to improve their relationships with themselves and others.

  • What can I expect during a therapy consultation?

A consult with a therapist is a short 15-minute casual conversation to determine whether the client and therapist would be a good fit for each other. Consultations are pretty informal; the therapist will start off with a few questions to get to know you better to determine whether she can competently treat you.

A consultation is NOT a therapy session. Therapeutic work starts after the initial consultation and the client contract has been signed.
